International HVAC Careers
What’s great about HVAC? People all over the world use these systems.
If you have started your HVAC training in the United States, chances are you have heard of ASHRAE, or the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers. Most HVAC engineers and workers in the US are members of ASHRAE, and there are bi-annual society meetings held to develop and share new knowledge and research in the HVAC industry.
However, even though “American” is in the name of this organization, ASHRAE has an international presence. Its HVAC design standards are legislated in the International Mechanical code and are updated every four years. HVAC systems all over the world conform to these standards, so the HVAC training you receive in the United States can be applied in countries from Europe to the Middle East, Australia to the Antarctic.
Different countries will have varying requirements of qualifications, education, and experience, so double check those before you pack up and ship out on a UK adventure. But if you do qualify, the HVAC systems you come across overseas will be no different from the ones you worked with here. Your HVAC training could lead you to a world of possibilities!
