Forecasting the Future of HVAC: AHR Expo
It looks like we were right when we claimed that HVAC was going wireless. And all our reports of HVAC going green. Because by day two of the AHR Expo, these are the hottest topics and the hottest items on every HVAC mind.
As ContractingBusiness.com reports, Dave Yates of York, PA, thinks “wireless is the future for the HVACR industry… {I have} found about three dozen control systems {at the expo}, at different levels of sophistication. They’re still a relatively expensive item, but they’re coming down in cost. Eventually, the simplicity of them will drive the business with contractors.”
There is also a great deal of interest in energy monitoring and greener HVAC appliances. Efficiency is important to the HVAC industry, which was one of the hardest hit in the economic downturn. The quest for greener energy is especially true in the home and small business sectors, as customers attempt to save money and become part of the growing environmentally conscious population.
Our predictions for the rest of this years AHR Expo? An increasing importance on these topics, as well as the unveiling of this year’s cutting-edge appliances. Keep an eye out for networking opportunities as well; even if you were not lucky enough to attend AHR 2010, stay in-tune with the conversation through Twitter and Facebook.
