American HVAC Company Lands the Mecca of all HVAC Contracts
Let’s hope that the good folks over at Johnson Controls have brushed up on their HVAC jobs training, because they’re gonna need it! It turns out that Johnson Controls recently landed a contract to provide an air conditioning system for the Sacred Mosque in Saudi Arabia, otherwise known as Mecca.
This of course presents a Herculean task for the Milwaukee, Wisconsin based HVAC company. The Sacred Mosque regularly accommodates up to 4 million people during the Hajj period, the 4 day time frame of pilgrimage to Mecca that every Muslim must make once in their life. While much of the Sacred Mosque is outdoors, Johnson Controls will be called upon to install an air conditioning system for a new wing that will be built in the near future.
The magnitude of the project will boggle the mind of HVAC professionals. According to reports, in order to provide the proper amount of air conditioning for the building, the system must supply 135,000 tons of refrigeration capacity. The entire project is made complicated by the Mecca’s location. In the desert climate of Saudi Arabia, temperatures regularly reach heights of over 100 degrees.
It is certain the Johnson Controls will have their hands full. But we here at HVAC Electrical Training are confident that those crazy folks from Milwaukee will be able to get the job done!
God speed, Johnson Controls!
